The Burman aims to reconnect the
Burmese diaspora
We connect the Burmese diaspora through sharing stories, news, and topics relevant to the Burmese community.
4.25 million
As of 2017, the latest study recorded by UNFPA, over 4.25 million Burmese born in Myanmar live abroad.

Children
Over one million children in Myanmar between 5 and 17 years old are trapped in child labor. While half of them are involved in hazardous work that directly endangers safety and development. This widespread poverty and labor makes it difficult for children to maintain a healthy lifestyle and pursue an education. To address this issue, The Burman donates funds to orphanages for more orphan shelters and adoptions. We also offer free educational workshops, scholarships, books, and school supplies to enhance the children’s learning opportunities.
Victims
Myanmar’s monsoon season with heavy rainfall causes frequent flooding and natural disasters, with 39.9% of the country’s population at risk. Victims of these natural disasters are particularly vulnerable due to the country’s limited infrastructure and facilities for disaster response. Many affected communities — especially in rural areas of upper Myanmar — lack access to essential services such as clean water, sanitation, and shelter for evacuation. To address this issue, The Burman partners with local NGOs, to provide food and clothes for evacuated victims.
